Why is race so important when it comes to religion and being an atheist? Well, let me show you why I think it is:

Bid slaves to be submissive to their masters and to give satisfaction in every respect …(Titus 2:9)

Slaves, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing the Lord. (Colossians 3:22)

Slaves, be obedient to those who are your earthly masters, with fear and trembling, in singleness of heart, as to Christ …(Ephesians 6:5)

Let all who are under the yoke of slavery regard their masters as worthy of all honor, so that the name of God and the teaching may not be defamed. (1 Timothy 6)

Blacks were forced into this religion by slavery. Their mental and physical abuse was endorsed by this wicked philosophy of evil men. Most people don’t know these verses are there, because they don’t read the bible. They spend their entire lives “studying” the same book one passage at a time, and conveniently skip over these parts (mainly guided by preachers at churches)

I urge all people, especially black people, to actually read the bible and study what they believe in. You’ll see what you’re actually worshiping…a philosophy of evil men, based on an immoral mythical character that endorsed the slavery of your ancestors.

  2. Great note. It is amazing how our people accept the bible , a source of fictional stories as the divine word of our imaginary master. It represents what the supersticious Hebrew people thought at that day and time. It has little or no relevance to us as black people. It is amazing that the Catholic Church is growing rapidly in Africa. Don’t we have our own superstiicions to adopt and follow. Thanks for your effort in bringing light to our blind religousness. Many times when I am channel surfing I look at or listen to televangelist (black and white) and am amazed at their ability to hold an audience or should I say congregation with texts and sermons selectively chosen from the “Good Book” to continue the mental enslavement of their followers.

  3. Jason, that’s an AFFRONT to my ancestors who were ACTUAL slaves. Do NOT twist that raggedy book by construing it to mean jobs and employers-as my former church did. As an employee, I have A CHOICE to stay or go. SLAVES have no rights or choices.

    You can chip at YOUR self worth by deeming yourself as sinful, unworthy if you like. When people stop striving to live up to this imagined perfection, they can and will live happier and fulfilled lives. As for the rest of us we will go on living life the best we can possibly while doing for those who can’t do for themselves…and that includes ALL of humanity-not just those who are part of a religious clique.

  4. You are misguiding people with that philosophy. The Bible is teaching that if you are a slave (and slavery hasn’t gone anywhere, it exists in many forms — such as the jobs we work day in and day out) that you should respect your master and act in a manner that will draw these task masters into an understanding of who you are in God and who they should be, also. Many people who have claimed to be godly, and not just the Christians, have allowed themselves to be involved in ungodly endeavors. This is evidence of our fallen and imperfect nature. The Bible, is God’s divine Word given to humanity to teach us that we need God. We need His character, so we can overcome our fallen state and treat each other the way we are intended. Slavery is not the issue, but simply an evidence of the issue. The issue is our sinful nature, and selfish desires.       1. It’s not an opinion, as there is plenty of proof to back the Scripture’s authenticity. You seem to be angry at God and therefore reading into a few chosen verses something that fits where you are spiritually. The Bible must be read and contextualized from beginning to end.
        If God intended people to be cruel, slave-owners why did He use Moses to free the Israelites from the bonds of the Egyptian task masters? Not only that, but he sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to free humanity from the bonds of sin. God’s purpose is not to bind, but to free.
        Take care how you interpret Scripture, as it is Jesus Christ written on paper (John, chapter one). You may think you are attacking a body of people with your anger,but you are not. You are slandering God, Himself. That is a dangerous place to be. Scripture is not subjective truth — it IS truth. Neither you nor I must believe to make it so — it simply IS.
        Take the time to study God’s Word from cover-to-cover. Take your anger directly to God, in prayer. Ask Him to reveal to you His truth. God is big enough to handle your anger and accusations, and He will be faithful to answer you.

        2. Hi, I’m Shaherah. I wrote this but I was unaware that this was on this forum…how awesome lol. Let me hit a few points, Jason:

          First, it’s obvious you don’t know much about scripture by trying to make a point with this paragraph. The god of the bible was all about freeing his OWN PEOPLE, NOT FOREIGNERS. So of course he wants to free the jews, his people, from slavery, because only his people were to not be slaves. Foreigners could be slaves all day.

          If your god didn’t want ANY slavery, why would he inspire people to write these verses in the bible at all? Simple answer: your god is myth and the bible was written by evil men who only wanted to control people. Very simple explanation.

      1. Humanity’s “ignorance” is in thinking that nothing can make something out of nothing, and then have the “intelligence” to know all about it. God is the only power that can create an intelligent being out of nothing, in His own image, and then restore that being to Himself, once the creation rejects its Creator.
        Again, truth is not subjective and it does not need us to believe in it in order to be so. It is, however, imperative that before humanity rejects God they understand exactly what they are rejecting and be prepared to suffer the consequence of that decision.

            2. It’s not a healthy conversation when all you’re spouting is garbage you’ve derived from someone else. Ever tried using that brain of yours for what it was meant to be used as? And not some supposed vessel to your sky daddy?

              Any god should be ashamed that it has to speak through its own people to prove that its real.

              Most of what you’ve said was dismissed mostly on the fact that I’ve read it all before. Just like that bible you’ve neglected to thoroughly read and nitpicked through.
